September 19, 2009

Hosted by the West Conroe Baptist Church, the Texas Honor Ride raised $28,000 for the Warrior and Family Support Center. Some 291 Motorcycles with 371 riders and passengers (Plus Blue Knights, Law Enforcement, Firefighters and EMS) made the Ride.  All told, more than 600 people attended the event. There were 42 entrants into the Car & Motorcycle show. A huge silent auction and great fun at the Live Auction.

The Apache had to cancel, but, showing their continued support for the THR, the 11th Aviation Command sent us ground personnel and wheeled vehicles.  The Coast Guard sent an HH-65C Dolphin Helicopter which was delayed a bit by the low ceiling. The 6th Cavalry Historical Society was on site with demonstrations and information.  The fly-over by Freedom Flight was awesome and the Houston Frisbee Dogs were flying too.  There was food, music and a Car & Bike Show. The silent auction and live auctions were a huge success. Jason March and his lovely wife Sandra joined us and brought a few friends from BAMC.  ALL of them went on the ride (Be sure to read the update on Jason.)

Our thanks to all of the Warriors, Blue Knights, Law Enforcement Officers, EMS, Firefighters, Rider, Passengers, Vendors, Donors. the West Conroe Baptist Church and the dozens of volunteers who made the day a huge success!
